What’s Worse Smoking or Sodomy? — Smoking During Sodomy!
When the christian church wants to promote discrimination and violence against the Gay and Lesbian community they utilize one of three well rehearsed lies.
1. Homosexuality is a lifestyle that can be changed. Christians know that this is a linchpin argument. If homosexuals can change their dirty lifestyle then it is perfectly acceptable to discriminate against them…discrimination should even be encouraged because it might force them to change. But if Gays and Lesbians are born with their sexual orientation (we are) and it cannot be changed (it can’t) then not only is discrimination wrong but the vast majority of Americans including christians would support full equality, including marriage equality.
Every accredited psychological and medical organization in America states that sexual orientation is fixed at birth and cannot be changed.
2. Homosexuals molest and recruit children. Christians say that since no person is born homosexual our community must molest and recruit children to perpetuate homosexuality. This is a particularly heinous lie because it equates the normal sexuality of Gays and Lesbians with criminal pedophiles…child molestation is one of the worst crimes imaginable so equating the Gay and Lesbian community with pedophiles not only promotes discrimination but encourages horrific violence.
Paul Cameron of the Family Research Institute is responsible for this completely discredited lie. Cameron actually lost his license to practice psychology because of these made up “reports”. The Family Research Institute is a registered hate group.
3. Homosexuals are diseased. Christians argue that the homosexual lifestyle must be discouraged because it spreads disease. It is true that Gays have a higher rate of sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and HIV but this is actually caused by the negative stigma attached to homosexuality. Closeted Gays will not get their STD’s treated or HIV testing done. This results in a silent spreading within the Gay community as well as higher infection rates for the girlfriends and wives of these closeted men. The negative stereotyping by christians is actually perpetuating this problem.
In states that recognize marriage equality for Gays and Lesbians infection rates actually decrease.
On Friday, March 12th, IFPC Action released a statement to the press highlighting a report by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) that revealed, “the rate of new HIV diagnoses among men who have sex with men (MSM) is more than 44 times that of other men and more than 40 times that of women.” The author of the report, Dr. Kevin Fenton, M.D., director of CDC's National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention, was quoted as saying, “while the heavy toll of HIV and syphilis among gay and bisexual men has been long recognized, this analysis shows just how stark the health disparities are between this and other populations.”
By comparison, the same CDC warns that, “People who smoke are 10 to 20 times more likely to get lung cancer or die from lung cancer than people who do not smoke.”
If most Iowans were to compare any two activities that each increase the risk of contracting a deadly disease, one that increases the risk of contracting a deadly disease by 20 times, and another that increases the risk by 44 times, they would all agree that the second is far more dangerous than the first.
Because the activities in question are smoking and sodomy, pro-homosexual groups like One Iowa decided to attack the messanger rather than to address the content of the message. Over the last year, few revelations have caused more consternation among the liberal left, and venomous attacks from the proponents of sodomy, than has the revelation that homosexuality is arguably more dangerous than smoking.
They apparently don’t believe warnings from the CDC report which included, “the risk of HIV transmission through receptive anal sex is much greater than the risk of transmission via other sexual activities.”
So, the question remains – Why has Iowa has outlawed smoking in public, and now texting while driving, in an effort to improve public health and safety while continuing to sanction self destructive sexual behavior? What’s worse, smoking or sodomy? According to the numbers, it’s not even close.

By supporting marriage equality for Gays and Lesbians the state of Iowa is actually reducing the number of STD’s and HIV transmissions within the entire population. This of course saves the state money.
