Obama Refuses To Challenge Christian Group
The Obama Administration refused to challenge a U.S. Court of Appeals decision allowing christians to terrorize visitors in National Parks the day after claiming it was the Attorney Generals duty to appeal all decisions. Of course when President Obama claimed that all decisions must be appealed he was referring to cases involving Gay and Lesbian Americans not christians.
The Obama Administration and Department of Justice are clearly using a double standard when it comes to judicial review. Gay and Lesbian Americans are held to higher scrutiny while christian groups receive favorable treatment.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled Aug. 6 that the Park Service’s regulation forcing individuals or small groups to obtain a permit for First Amendment-protected activities was unconstitutional. But the court upheld the agency’s policy of setting aside designated park areas for larger demonstrations and the sale of printed material after applicants obtained a permit.
The Justice Department declined to appeal the ruling.
The case was brought by Michael Boardley, who was distributing religious materials at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota in 2007 before a park ranger stopped him because he lacked a permit. His attempts to obtain a permit failed, and he later sued.
“It was a bureaucratic nightmare,” said Nate Kellum, senior counsel with the Alliance Defense Fund, a nonprofit Christian legal defense group. “He was completely stymied from sharing his Christian views with anybody else.”
The case “establishes that national parks are no different than any other public park,” Kellum said. “There’s no distinction now between Mount Rushmore and the city park down the street.”

President Obama claims to support equality for Gays and Lesbians yet is aggressively challenging the court cases where DOMA and the military’s DADT policy were ruled unconstitutional. The Administration could have allowed those rulings to stand like the christian National Parks case but President Obama apparently is as homophobic as the christian terrorists he is supporting.
Fortunately the same conservatives that argued for unrestrained proselytizing by the christian terror groups in National Parks also won the constitutional right for all Americans to carry guns and defend themselves in those National Parks.
Gay and Lesbian Americans are threatened daily by the same christian terrorist organization receiving favors from the Obama Administration. Our community should not expect fair treatment from the United States Justice Department. Our safety is in our hands.
