About
I am a pissed off Gay American living off-grid in the mountains of Southern Colorado. I built my own cabin, grow most of my own food, generate my own power and brew my own beer…
Some History
I lived in Denver for years and loved the city. But I grew tired of simply working to pay the bills. You go to work, you make
money, you pay bills and maybe if you are lucky have a little left over. Day to day you long for that two week vacation that’s still six months off. At thirty four I was already tired of the endless wheel and just wanted off.
My mind couldn’t justify working an entire lifetime to simply make the banking industry and multinational corporations, who are destroying the world, rich. You can play activist giving money to environmental groups but anytime you use that credit card or flip the light switch you are feeding the beast. You spend a lifetime contributing to the problem then pray you have enough savings to feed yourself for the few years you eek by after retirement then die. This was not for me.
During this period I also started seeing disturbing patterns emerge in the United States that told me the classic American society is dying a slow death. The middle class was being destroyed, manufacturing base disappearing, working class heavily in debt, wealth redistributed upwards, and almost total control of our government by multinational corporations.
After the “terrorist attacks” of September 11, 2001 nationalism became god, the privatized prison industry exploded, government surveillance systems propagated and the United States military budgets started pushing a trillion dollars a year (1.2 trillion dollars in 2010). All the while safety net programs in America are demonized and defunded.
The movement towards fascism started under Ronald Reagan but hit full stride with Bush II and Obama. The elite know the United States
is finished as a world power. The multinational corporations running our government are now worried about maintaining profits while controlling a homeless, starving and well armed population hellbent on revolution.
For fascism to work the ruling elite must rally the people around a common enemy or risk being driven out of power. In other words rather than looking at unrestrained corporate greed and corruption as the root cause of America’s economic collapse the elite point to muslims, immigrants and homosexuals as the immoral groups bring down the United States. This model has always worked great especially in Nazi Germany.
So I decided that by my 40th birthday I would be removed from the system and living a simple life…it took me to 41 but I got it done.
Bought some land in the mountains of Southern Colorado, paid off or sold everything, picked up some skills, saved money, built a cabin and stopped feeding the beast.
