Registered Hate Group The Family Research Council Releases Study Claiming Girls Who Attend Church Don’t Become Lesbians

The registered hate group, Family Research Council (FRC), released a “study” on Monday showing a strong correlation between family structure and Lesbianism. Claiming that girls raised in traditional christian families that attend church regularly are less likely to become lesbians.

The Family Research Council claims this as proof that Lesbians are not born with their sexual orientation but acquire it when raised in non-traditional family structures.

Before we all start throwing science out the window and take this “study” at face value let’s look at the Family Research Council and its ties to the Gay and Lesbian community.

The Family Research Council is a registered hate group that promotes rounding up Gay and Lesbian Americans to export from the country. They have pushed for criminalization of homosexual behavior in the United States as recently as 2008. The FRC even released a “study” in early 2010 claiming that allowing homosexuals to serve openly in the military will lead to gay on straight rapes.

The Family Research Council actively pushes the discredited lie that Gays are pedophiles who molest and recruit children in their online literature, newsletters and books. The resulting violence bred from the FRC’s fear the homo propaganda is directly responsible for thousands of hate crimes against Gay and Lesbian Americans.

The Family Research Council has ties with the christian based Ku Klux Klan as well as the Council of Conservative Citizens, a white supremacist group that has described black people as a “retrograde species of humanity.” These groups routinely share mailing lists and speak at each others conferences.

Now that you know who the Family Research Council is let’s take a look at the study.

A recently released study shows a link between childhood family structure and the rate of female homosexuality — undermining the claim that sexual orientation is genetic or biological.

Family Research Council (FRC) looked into the family lives and worship rates of 7,643 women between the ages of 14 and 44. Pat Fagan, senior fellow and director of the Marriage and Religion Research Institute at FRC, co-evaluated the data and tells OneNewsNow about the findings.

Pat Fagan (FRC)”Once the girl grows up in a home in which her father is not present, it’s about three times” more likely she has had or will have homosexual partners, he says — but when she is raised by parents who are married and “always intact, it’s about a four-percent rate.” Moreover, he explains that rate is “slightly higher in the always-intact-but-cohabitating parents — that’s parents who never married.”

Statistics are also higher with step-families, the cohabiting step-family, and the single divorced parent, adds the FRC spokesman.

“The big take away from this study is that clearly, this [type of sexual behavior] is not genetic,” Fagan points out. “The different rates of homosexuality among women are very reactive to the family structure within which they grow up. If it was genetic, you would find pretty much the same rates all across.”

He further notes that, according to the results of the study, women who claim to worship weekly or monthly have a lower rate of lesbianism, while those who rarely or never worship are at a higher rate.

Another way to look at these numbers is that the oppression of the church and fear of abuse from their traditional christian parents force these women to stay in the closet.

The christian church preaches that homosexuals are an abomination before god and must be put to death. If you are a young women bombarded with this hate message every Sunday of course you will deny your natural born sexual orientation out of fear for your life. The christian church has killed millions of Gay and Lesbian people over it’s 2000 year history mostly by burning at the stake or hanging.

As for traditional christian families being a better environment for raising children remember studies have shown 26 percent of American adolescents report being physically abused by a parent in traditional christian families and the 8.3 percent report sexual abuse.

Corrective rape is a method of curing lesbians that is endorsed by many christian churches and Exodus International. The idea is that if a Lesbian experiences “normal” sex she will be cured of her same sex attraction. These corrective rapes are often carried out by fathers or uncles. A Lesbian in a traditional christian family already has a 1 in 10 chance of being sexually abused. Better to stay in the closet than risk being raped by your christian father.

Homosexuality and heterosexuality are both normal, natural and unchangeable sexual orientation. Every accredited psychological and medical organization in America agrees that attempting to change a persons natural sexual orientation will not work and can cause severe mental damage.

Here is what the American Psychiatric Association has to say about corrective therapies.

“For over three decades the consensus of the mental health community has been that homosexuality is not an illness and therefore not in need of a cure,” the statement said.

“The APA’s concern about the positions espoused by NARTH and so-called conversion therapy is that they are not supported by the science. There is simply no sufficiently scientifically sound evidence that sexual orientation can be changed. Our further concern is that the positions espoused by NARTH and Focus on the Family create an environment in which prejudice and discrimination can flourish.”

All major national mental health organizations have officially expressed concerns about therapies promoted to modify sexual orientation. To date, there has been no scientifically adequate research to show that therapy aimed at changing sexual orientation (sometimes called reparative or conversion therapy) is safe or effective. Furthermore, it seems likely that the promotion of change therapies reinforces stereotypes and contributes to a negative climate for lesbian, gay, and bisexual persons.

In 2010 the United States government spent 1.2 TRILLION dollars on roughly 1.4 million active military personnel. That works out to about $860,000 per each soldier per year. The vast majority of this money was spent protecting corporate profits in foreign countries and lining dictators pockets.

The United States government spent roughly 150 billion dollars on unemployment in 2010. With the governments unemployment numbers hovering around 9.5% this mean 14.6 million American are unemployed. So in 2010 the United States government spent roughly $10,300 per unemployed American worker per year. With the vast majority of this money being spent in America on American products to keep American families alive.

Unfortunately the true unemployment numbers in the United States are closer to 25%. 1 in 4 American workers are unemployed or underemployed. Americans are facing homelessness and starvation in record numbers.

The United States must stop spending TRILLIONS of dollars a year protecting corporate profits in the middle east while ignoring their own citizens.

Armed security guards will be on hand at 36 unemployment offices around Indiana in what state officials said is a step to improve safety and make branch security more consistent.

No specific incidents prompted the action, Department of Workforce Development spokesman Marc Lotter told 6News’ Norman Cox.

Lotter said the agency is merely being cautious with the approach of an early-December deadline when thousands of Indiana residents could see their unemployment benefits end after exhausting the maximum 99 weeks provided through multiple federal extension periods.

“Given the upcoming expiration of the federal extensions and the increased stress on some of the unemployed, we thought added security would provide an extra level of protection for our employees and clients,” he said.

Archbishop of Military Demands Religious Freedom To Kill Gays

I didn’t even know we had an Archbishop of the Military…you can imagine my shock.

Religious freedom does not give christianity the right to promote violence against a minority group. Nor does it give christian organizations the right to strip Gay and Lesbian Americans of their Constitutionally guaranteed civil rights.

The founding fathers of this once great county saw the dangers in allowing religion and the state to merge. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution was born out of that fear.

Why then is the christian leadership dictating military policy to the Commander and Chief of the Armed Forces. Have the tentacles of christian treachery entwined themselves so completely into the military that President Obama dares not challenge them? Could this be the reason President Obama bowed to the Archbishop of the Military and reinstated DADT?

“As the shepherd for Catholics in the military,” he said, “I am continually faced by the fact that priests can be excluded from military service because of health or weight problems or because of their age. Are those distinctions discriminatory?”

Archbishop Broglio also detailed his concern that Christian chaplains, and those of several other religions, might lose the right to proclaim teachings that oppose homosexual behavior. The danger to religious liberty, he said, “is latent in the agenda being advanced by many” under the guise of mere tolerance. In reality, he said, “there is an agenda to force everyone to accept as normal and positive behavior that is contrary to the moral norms of many religions, including the Catholic Church.”

“While the Armed Forces will never oblige a priest or minister to act in an official capacity contrary to his or her religious beliefs,” he noted, “there is the danger that teaching objective moral precepts or seeking to form youngsters in the faith could be misconstrued as intolerance. Then, indeed, freedom of religion would be compromised.”

The archbishop also articulated the crucial difference between constitutionally guaranteed “free exercise of religion” and the much more limited idea of a mere “freedom of worship.” If the military opts to silence many faiths’ opposition to homosexuality, he said, their religious liberty would suffer.

“As Catholics,” he warned, “we must be attentive to the protection of our freedom of religion” — neither subordinating it to the idea of tolerance, nor trading it for the mere “freedom of worship.” If members of the Church do not defend this freedom in the public square, he said, “we may well lose it.”

I am a Gay Liberal American. I believe in liberal principals and universal human rights. I will not support a political party that does not support these principals.

In 2008 on a message of change the Democratic Party was given control of the White House as well as a filibuster proof majority of 60 in the United States Senate and a huge majority in the House of Representatives. How well did the Democratic Party support the liberal agenda of change that got them elected?

No meaningful legislation on the environment or alternative energies but we did get more “safe” offshore drilling thank you President Obama.

No meaningful legislation on universal health care but we did get a bill mandating that all Americans purchase overpriced heath insurance thank you lobbiest and the congress members they bought.

No meaningful legislation on financial reform but we did get a bill that allows banks to raise our credit card rates and continue the risky investments that killed the American economy thank you Senator Dodd and Representative Franks.

No meaningful legislation on jobs creation but we did get a multi-trillion dollar bailout for Wall Street insiders thank you multinational corporation whose record profits were supported with our tax dollars.

The United States is still expanding its citizen surveillance systems

The United States is still in two wars and working on a third

The United States is still shedding jobs with true unemployment near 25%

The United States is still under expanding control of multinational corporations

I honestly see no difference between the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. Their policies are identical and only benefit the multinational corporate masters buying their votes.

Oh yea…then there is the whole Gay thing

The Obama Administration has no intention of repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. The policy was ruled unconstitutional by the courts and the Obama Administration actually reinstated it! There was no action on ENDA even though it was promised by Uncle Tom Franks and DOMA is still the law of the land…again ruled unconstitutional but appealed by the Obama Administration.

Maybe next time the Democrats are in power they will remember to actually pass a few pieces of liberal legislation before they sell out to the multinational corporations and christian special interest groups.

Gay Mormons Do Exist

Many dismiss the mormon church as a freakish cult whose members live in polygamy compounds and girls as young as 11 are taken by the male elders as wives. But it would be foolish to dismiss this dangerous group. The mormon church commands billions of dollars in resources and its membership includes Republican Presidential front runner Mitt Romney and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. They are both practicing mormons.

The mormon church was a leading funder of the discriminatory and unconstitutional Proposition 8 Campaign in California where the right to marry was taken away from Gay and Lesbian Americans.

Sadly the mormon leadership is at it again. In a recent broadcast to over a million mormons across the country Boyd K. Packer, the church leader, pushed violence against our community as he called Gays immoral and homosexuality against gods laws.

LDS leader Boyd K. Packer told millions of followers Sunday that being gay is morally wrong and reiterated his church’s opposition to gay unions.

Packer, the president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ (the Mormons) Quorum of Twelve Apostles, delivered his message in a sermon about the dangers of pornography and gay marriage, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.

“There are those today who not only tolerate but advocate voting to change laws that would legalize immorality, as if a vote would somehow alter the designs of God’s laws and nature. To legalize that which is basically wrong or evil will not prevent the pain and penalties that will follow as surely as night follows day.”

“A law against nature would be impossible to enforce,” the 86-year-old Packer added. “Do you think a vote to repeal the law of gravity would do any good?”

Packer was speaking to more than 20,000 followers at the church’s 180th Annual General Conference in downtown Salt Lake City and to millions watching via satellite.

The senior apostle also rejected the notion that same-sex attraction – which he called “impure and unnatural” – is inborn. “Why would our Heavenly Father do that to anyone?” he rhetorically asked.

Every accredited psychological and medical organization in America says that sexual orientation is fixed and cannot be changed. Madieye Diallo’s body had been in the ground for only a few hours when the mob descended on the weedy cemetery with shovels. They yanked out the corpse, spit on its torso, dragged it away and dumped it in front of the home of his elderly parents.

The scene of May 2, 2009 was filmed on a cell phone and the video sold at the market. It passed from phone to phone, sowing panic among gay men who say they now feel like hunted animals.

“I locked myself inside my room and didn’t come out for days,” says a 31-year-old gay friend of Diallo’s, who is ill with HIV. “I’m afraid of what will happen to me after I die. Will my parents be able to bury me?”

A wave of intense homophobia is washing across Africa, where homosexuality is already illegal in at least 37 countries.

In the last year alone, gay men have been arrested in Kenya, Malawi, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. In Uganda, lawmakers are considering a bill that would sentence homosexuals to life in prison and include capital punishment for “repeat offenders.” And in South Africa, the only country that recognizes gay rights, gangs have carried out so-called “corrective” rapes on lesbians.

“Across many parts of Africa, we’ve seen a rise in homophobic violence,” says London-based gay-rights activist Peter Tatchell, whose organization tracks abuse against gays and lesbians in Africa. “It’s been steadily building for the last 10 years but has got markedly worse in the last year.”

To the long list of abuse meted out to suspected homosexuals in Africa, Senegal has added a new form of degradation — the desecration of their dead bodies.

In the past two years, at least four men suspected of being gay have been exhumed by angry mobs in cemeteries in Senegal. The violence is especially shocking because Senegal, unlike other countries in the region, is considered a model of tolerance.

“It’s jarring to see this happen in Senegal,” says Ryan Thoreson, a fellow at the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission who has been researching the rise of homophobia here. “When something like this happens in an established democracy, it’s alarming.”

Even though homosexuality is illegal in Senegal, colonial documents indicate the country has long had a clandestine gay community. In many towns, they were tacitly accepted, says Cheikh Ibrahima Niang, a professor of social anthropology at Senegal’s largest university. In fact, the visibility of gays in Senegal may have helped to prompt the backlash against them.

The backlash dates from at least February 2008, when a Senegalese tabloid published photographs of a clandestine gay wedding in a suburb of Dakar, the capital. The wedding was held inside a rented banquet hall and was attended by dozens of gay men, some of whom snapped pictures that included the gay couple exchanging rings and sharing slices of cake.

The day after the tabloid published the photographs, police began rounding up men suspected of being homosexual. Some were beaten in captivity and forced to turn over the names of other gay men, according to research by the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission.

Gays immediately went into hiding and those who could fled to neighboring countries, including Gambia to the south, according to the New York-based commission. Gambia’s erratic president declared that gays who had entered his country had 24 hours to leave or face decapitation. Many returned to Senegal, where they lived on the run, moving from safehouse to safehouse.

In March 2008, Senegal hosted an international summit of Muslim nations, which prompted a nationwide crackdown on behaviors deemed un-Islamic, including homosexuality.

The crackdown also coincided with spiraling food prices. Niang says political and religious leaders saw an easy way to reach constituents through the inflammatory topic of homosexuality.

Secretary of the Army Suspends ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Discharges

Secretary of the Army, John McHugh understands that unit cohesion and military readiness are actually enhanced by letting Gay and Lesbian soldiers serve openly. Secretary McHugh stands will true Americans rejecting the rhetoric of bigotry and discrimination.

The secretary of the Army, John M. McHugh, said Wednesday that he was effectively ignoring the “don’t ask, don’t tell” law because he had no intention of pursuing discharges of active-duty service members who have recently told him that they are gay.

Mr. McHugh, the Army’s civilian leader and a former Republican congressman from upstate New York, said that he had initiated the conversations with service members in recent months as part of the Pentagon’s review of how best to carry out a repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” law, which requires that gay service members keep their sexual orientation secret or face discharge.

President Obama, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates and Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, have all called on Congress to repeal the 17-year-old law and allow gay service members to serve openly.

Although Mr. Gates announced revised standards last week that make it harder for the military to discharge service members whose sexual orientation is revealed by third parties, gay men and lesbians who willingly reveal their sexual orientation still face ouster from the military, at least as the law is written.

But Mr. McHugh, who spoke at a breakfast with Pentagon reporters, said it made no sense to pursue discharges of service members as he speaks with them about the change in policy. Mr. Obama, Mr. Gates and Admiral Mullen have all asked commanders to assess opinion within the military about the change in law.

Mr. McHugh said it would be “counterproductive” to “take disciplinary action against someone who spoke with me openly and honestly.” He said the Pentagon was still trying to devise a way to more formally poll large numbers of service members about their views on changing the law.

Christian Group Misrepresents Results To Finger Gays In Military Sexual Assault Report

A Department of Defense report shows a skyrocketing increase of male-on-female sexual assaults up 11 percent over last year. Of all reported assaults 87 percent were male-on-female only seven percent were male-on-male and these were crimes of convenience committed by straights males on straight males. No where in the report does it claim that Gays of Lesbians are responsible for any sexual assaults.

They conclude that since male-on-male sexual assaults is “incompatible with the military” the closeted Gays are sneaking in and sexually assaulting other soldiers and this must be stopped. Apparently the christian organization feels that the massive number of bible based male-on-female sexual assaults are fine and compatible with gods will.

This christian skewed analysis is just another example of christian organizations lying to encourage further discrimination and violence against Gays and Lesbians.

A national defense analyst and Pentagon advisor says a recent report concerning the alarming rate of male-on-male sexual assaults in the military should create a roadblock to President Obama’s efforts to repeal the 1993 law banning homosexuals from military service.

An annual report from the Department of Defense reveals that over the past year, reports of sexual assaults in the military have increased by 11 percent, including a 16-percent spike in reported incidents in combat areas, principally in Iraq and Afghanistan. While 87 percent of the reported assaults were male-on-female, seven percent were male-on-male.

Lt. Col. Bob Maginnis (USA-Ret.) was part of the military working group that helped craft the 1993 law known as Section 654, Title 10. The law states that homosexuality is incompatible with military service. Maginnis considers the seven-percent figure in male-on-male sexual assaults alarming.

Bob Maginnis”You’ve got to come to the conclusion that in the military, where we have a ban for that type of service and we’re having a fairly significant incidence of assault that’s associated with that type of activity, then you actually may have a worse problem than you think,” he suggests.

Maginnis argues that the DoD report is not going to help those in the Pentagon who are supporting President Obama’s call to lift the ban. “They may dismiss it as just an aberration or [say] this is not indicative of gay behavior, but their own statistics are pretty self-evident,” he says. “Seven percent is not something to dismiss lightly. If you’re going to have that much homosexual assault, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.”

The retired Army officer says the increase of incidents of male-on-female sexual assaults is also very alarming and must be dealt with, especially in a time of war.

Both Dan and Jim pleaded not guilty to failure to obey an order in DC Superior Court today. I attended their arraignment with Robin McGehee from GetEqual, Pam Spaulding and her wife, Kate, Paul Yandura, Alex Nicholson from Servicemembers United and several of the other GetEqual activists.

Jim was brought into the courtroom first, in handcuffs and leg . He pleaded not guilty and got a trial date of April 26th. The judge told him that he could “post and forfeit” meaning pay a fee of $100, with no admission of guilt, and have the whole matter go away. But, Jim said “not guilty.

Dan came into the courtroom next, again in handcuffs and shackles (leg irons). He got the same disclaimer from the judge about the “post and forfeit” process. But, Dan said, “I plead not guilty and I am not ashamed. And, I am not finished.”

Then, both were freed.

It was quite a scene. Dan hugged all of us. Jim thanked me for coming. I told him we all owe him thanks.

As we left the court house, several of us started filming Dan. Big mistake. The court house doesn’t allow filming in the hallways. Now, there’s no sign that says anything about it — and we were allowed to bring our cameras in. But, the marshals sprang into action. And, I have to add, Marshall Gambel was pretty obnoxious about it. As if we all knew that the Executive Judge had to approve it. Whatever. I had to delete 24 seconds of video. But, as you can see below, I got great video outside of the court. Dan had a message for our leaders: “We’re going to do it again.” And, he wanted President Obama and others to know “we will not go away.”
