Anglican Archbishop Claims Gays Are Not Gay…They Just Fear Women

Just what Nigeria needs, another hate mongering christian leader who promotes putting Gays and Lesbians to death.

Anglican Archbishop Okoh of Nigeria has been trotting out the same anti-gay rhetoric his predecessor, Peter Akinola, was famous for.

I don’t know why I expected the new archbishop of Nigeria to be any different from the old one, not on the subject of sexuality anyway. When I told a colleague the primate-elect had made strong remarks regarding homosexuality he shrugged his shoulders and replied, “Well, what do you expect? It’s a bit like saying the pope is Catholic.” It was an accurate if glib assessment of the theological leanings of the Anglican church in Nigeria, which is unlikely to have a liberal at its helm any time soon.

Okoh says there is no such thing as homophobia because gay men are not gay. “Do not be afraid of being called homophobic. It is a term designed to close down any expression of a contrary view. Respond by accusing them of gynophobia – an inordinate fear of women and of relationships with women.”

He was partly responding to the bishop of Liverpool’s sermon on homosexuality and the Anglican Communion, which Ruth Gledhill from The Times has written about here.

I’m not sure I understand what Okoh is saying about homosexual men. Is he saying they’re not homosexual but are scared of women and that accusations of homophobia are therefore futile? Hmm. Where does this leave lesbians? They can’t possibly suffer from gynophobia, can they?

Exodus International Fears Terrorist Listing For Advocating Genocide Against Gays & Lesbians

Bad press and fear of being listed as an international terrorist organization, is forcing Exodus International, one of the primary christian ministries responsible for the genocide against Gays and Lesbians in Uganda, to backpedal on their support for the “kill the gays bill”. Exodus now claims that killing Gays and Lesbians interferes with their christian right to minister and “cure” the homosexual of their unholy perversion though the very profitable practice of conversion therapy.

Conversion therapy is the lucrative and discredited practice of changing Gays and Lesbians into straight christians. Conversion therapy has been denounced as a fraud by every accredited psychological and medical organization in America. You cannot change a persons sexual orientation. The average conversion therapy costs $22,000 netting billions over the years for christian ministries who pushed this snake oil. With the American cash cow drying up Exodus needs new fertile flocks to fleece.

Unable to pedal their fraudulent therapy in America, Exodus turned their attention to Africa hoping to win huge government contracts “converting” homosexuals to heterosexuals. To accomplish this they sent christian ministers to African countries such as Uganda to fan the flames of hate against Gays and Lesbians. These christian ministers told their congregants that homosexuals were stealing and raping their children, spreading disease, promoting bestiality in schools and offending god. The answer to the homosexual problem, Exodus said, is to convert these unnatural homos into good heterosexual christians. Of course Exodus offered this service at a very reasonable price.

Unfortunately for Exodus International, Uganda took it to far. Rather than force their Gay and Lesbian residents into conversion therapy which Exodus would profit from, the Ugandans decided to simply exercise the christian mandate of Leviticus 20:13 and kill all homosexuals cutting Exodus out of the loop entirely.

The cash strapped Exodus International board of directors now fears being listed as an international terrorist organization which openly promotes killing Gays and Lesbians. Exodus is now trying to distance itself from the Ugandan genocide against Gays and Lesbian which of course Exodus started and has supported over the past year.

Exodus International is directly responsible for this crime against humanity and will never wash the blood from our brothers and sisters from their hands.

Exodus International believes that every human life, regardless of an individual’s sexual behavior, is of inestimable worth to God and that defending this principle is foundational in offering a Christian response to any issue. As such, Exodus International has not and will not support any legislation that deprives others of life and dignity including, but not limited to, Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill of 2009. We stand with all who are defending this basic, biblical tenet and remain committed to sharing the compassion, hope and life-giving truth and grace of Jesus Christ.

In November of 2009, several of us sent a letter to Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and First Lady Musenevi expressing our concerns regarding The Anti-Homosexuality Bill of 2009. The legislation would render some homosexual practices crimes punishable by life imprisonment and possible death. We believe that sexual crimes against children, whether committed by someone of the same or opposite sex, are the most serious of offenses and should be punished; we consider same-sex behavior in consensual adult relationships another matter.

Since the Bible clearly states that homosexual behavior was not part of God’s creative intent for human sexual expression, the Christian church must remain a safe, compassionate and confidential place. If homosexual behavior and knowledge of such behavior is criminalized and prosecuted, as proposed in this bill, church and ministry leaders will be unable to assist hurting men, women and youth who might otherwise seek help in addressing this personal issue. The Christian church must be permitted to extend the love and compassion of Christ to all, regardless of an individual’s adherence to scripture. We believe that such legislation would make this mission a difficult, if not impossible, task to carry out.

Many of us, and those we know and work with, have personally struggled with same-sex attractions and some have lived as gay-identified individuals, but we have since found a new identity in Jesus Christ. We now live our lives to reflect the transformation that is available to those who submit their mind, will and emotions to the Lordship of Christ. We sincerely believe that such transformation cannot be achieved in an environment of government coercion where the vital support, care and compassion of the Christian community is discouraged and prosecuted. In addition, it wasn’t through coercion that Christ set us free, but through the gracious invitation He extended to us for relationship and the freedom He gave us to choose our own path.

Proposed Senate Resolution Condemns Ugandan Genocide Against Gays & Lesbians

Members of Congress are drafting resolutions condemning the Ugandan genocide against Gays and Lesbians and urging the other 86 countries that still criminalize people for being born homosexual to repeal those laws. A nice but meaningless gesture unless those countries continuing to persecute Gays and Lesbians are denied foreign aid from the United States.

A key Senate committee is preparing to debate a resolution that would urge Ugandan lawmakers to dump a controversial anti-gay bill.

Nineteen lawmakers, including Republican Senators Bob Casey, Jr. of Pennsylvania, Tom Coburn of Oklahoma and Susan Collins of Maine, have signed on as co-sponsors of the resolution since Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold’s February introduction.

Feingold’s resolution calls on members of the Parliament of Uganda to reject a bill that includes a death penalty provision for people who repeatedly engage in gay sex and those who are HIV-positive. The bill also bans the “promotion of homosexuality,” which would effectively outlaw political organizations, broadcasters and publishers that advocate on behalf of gay rights.

The bill’s tangled language could allow straight folks to be put to death, as well. The death penalty provision applies to anyone who is found guilty of “aggravated homosexuality,” a term used to describe a repeat offender. Those offenses include failing to report to officials knowledge of a person who is gay. Therefore, a person does not need to engage in gay sex to bring the death penalty to bear.

While a scheduled March 23 meeting in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee which includes the resolution on its agenda has been postponed, Federick Jones, a spokesman for the committee, assured On Top Magazine in an email that the meeting will take place later in the week.

A similar House resolution also introduced in February might receive its first outing during a House Committee on Foreign Affairs hearing on US policy in Africa scheduled for Wednesday. The committee is chaired by California Representative Howard L. Berman, the resolution’s primary sponsor.

Berman’s resolution has attracted 58 co-sponsors, including openly gay representatives Barney Frank of Massachusetts, Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin and Jared Polis of Colorado.

Both Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Obama criticized the proposal at the National Prayer Breakfast in February. Obama described the measure as “odious.”

In addition to urging the Uganda Parliament to reject the anti-gay bill, the resolution also “urges all countries around the world to reject and repeal similar laws that criminalize homosexuality, and encourages the United States Department of State to closely monitor human rights abuses that occur because of sexual orientation.”

American Christian Death Minister Scott Lively Defends Discrimination and Violence Against Gays

Pastor Scott Lively claims that Gays and Lesbians are sneaking into Uganda and stealing good christian children to use as sex slaves in their diseased and depraved lifestyles. Because of this pastor Scott Lively helped the Ugandan government draft legislation that mandates death by hanging for Gays and Lesbians unless they return to their natural heterosexual orientation. This death mandate has been embraced by many christian organizations in the United States.

Pastor Scott Lively and his various death ministries are registered hate groups in the United States. It is unfortunate that the Ugandan government did not look into this pastor who is registered with such groups as the Aryan Nation and KKK.

Pastor Scott Lively is simply continuing the christian churches 2000 years tradition of putting Gays and Lesbians to death. Millions of Gays and Lesbians have been burned at the stake or stoned to death over the course of christianities bloody history.

All accredited psychological and medical institutions in America agree that sexual orientation is fixed at birth and cannot be changed.

…Ugandan citizens report a growing number of foreign homosexual men coming to their country to turn desperately poor young men from the slums into their personal houseboys, and that some girls in public schools have being paid to recruit others into lesbianism. Foreign interests have exerted intense pressure on Uganda’s government to compromise its laws regarding sexual morality, often using their control over foreign aid funding for leverage.

Over the past decade a growing pro-family movement has begun to insist that Parliament do something about this problem. This year, Parliament answered the call. Unfortunately, the bill they are now debating represents a serious over correction, including, for example, the death penalty for certain forms of “aggravated homosexuality” (such as knowingly spreading AIDS).

**Anyone who has been arrested for engaging in homosexual activities more than one is also put to death he leaves that little nugget of truth out.

As a Christian attorney and international human rights advocate who has worked closely with Uganda’s pro-family movement, I have a special interest in this issue. In my view, homosexuality (indeed all sex outside of marriage) should be actively discouraged by society — but only as aggressively as necessary to prevent the mainstreaming of alternative sexual lifestyles, and with concern for the preservation of the liberties of those who desire to keep their personal lifestyles private. Marriage-based culture served humanity very favorably during the centuries when homosexuality was disapproved but tolerated as a sub-culture in America, England and elsewhere. It has obviously not fared well in the decades since the so-called sexual revolution kicked open Pandora’s Box and unleashed both rampant heterosexual promiscuity and “Gay Pride“ on the world.

In March of this year I had the privilege of addressing members of the Ugandan parliament in their national assembly hall when the anti-homosexuality law was just being considered. I urged them to pattern their bill on some American laws regarding alcoholism and drug abuse. I cited my own pre-Christian experience being arrested for drunk driving. I was given and chose the option of therapy which turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. I also cited the policy in some U.S. jurisdictions regarding marijuana. Criminalization of the drug prevents its users from promoting it, and discourages non-users from starting, even while the law itself is very lightly enforced, if at all. Additionally, I urged them to actively promote the marriage model in their schools as a form of inoculation to the anti-family messages flooding their country through Western media.

All of my suggestions were ignored (despite which fact I am being blamed for the proposed law as written by certain major media outlets and the “gay” blogosphere.) Nevertheless, I commend the courage of the Ugandan people. During the past decade or so, Uganda has been one of the few countries of the world that has firmly resisted the enormous power and relentless pressure of the international “gay” lobby, while other developing nations such as South Africa and Brazil have been systematically homosexualized. This is one of the reasons that Uganda’s AIDS rate went from the highest to the lowest in Africa during this same time period.

Let me be absolutely clear. I do not support the proposed anti-homosexuality law as written. It does not emphasize rehabilitation over punishment and the punishment that it calls for is unacceptably harsh. However, if the offending sections were sufficiently modified, the proposed law would represent an encouraging step in the right direction. As one of the first laws of this century to recognize that the destructiveness of the “gay” agenda warrants opposition by government, it would deserve support from Christian believers and other advocates of marriage-based culture around the world.

** Lively supports life in prison camps instead of the death penalty. There is money to be made off of force labor.

In the mean time, despite all of the hysteria in the liberal media, it is important to remember that there is no death penalty for homosexuals in Uganda, only a bill under debate that will hopefully be modified before passage…

Death Ministers Martin Ssempa and Scott Lively Discuss Killing Gays and Lesbians In Uganda

ABC new interviewed the Ugandan death minister Martin Ssempa and his American counterpart Scott Lively. Uganda is in the last stage of implementing its final solution against the Gay and Lesbian community. Scott Lively is the president of the California based Abiding Truth Ministries, a hate group registered with the Southern Poverty Law Center. Lively has deep ties to the American Family Association, Watchmen on the Walls and Focus on the Family. He is also the christian minister responsible for helping draft the Ugandan legislation which if passed will make being Gay or Lesbian a crime punishable by life imprisonment or death.

The Ugandan government along with its overseers in the christian church are conducting genocide against Gays and Lesbians. The Ugandan government is committing a terrible crime against humanity and must be brought to justice.

Uganda Investigated For Killing Gays And Crimes Against Humanity

The U.S. Department of State has launched an investigation into Uganda’s genocide against Gay and Lesbian people and crimes against humanity. The Ugandan governments targeted policy of killing Gays and Lesbians is being pushed by local christian death ministers but originated in the powerful christian ministries and lobby groups based in the United States.

Since the Supreme Court of the United States overturned the discriminatory laws that targeted American Gays and Lesbians in 2003 powerful christian hate groups have worked to reintroduce the death penalty for Gays and Lesbians in America and around the globe. These christian hate groups are gaining a foot hold in the superstitious christian countries of Africa.

Not only are Gays and Lesbians being targeted for death but young children are being killed in the name of christ during exorcisms where holes are drilled into their young skulls and filed with acid. The “demonically possessed” children usually die during the christian ritual. Those surviving the christian exorcism suffer sever brain damage.

Responding to a January 12th letter from Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), the State Department said that the “Anti-homosexuality Bill, 2009” pending in the Ugandan Parliament is “a serious affront to internationally accepted human rights standards.” Senator Wyden’s letter called for a review of Uganda’s preferred trade status under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), which authorizes duty-free importation of certain goods from preferred status countries. As a condition of receiving preferred status under AGOA, a country must not be engaged in “gross violations of internationally recognized human rights.” In its letter, the State Department said that it will work closely with Congress and other stakeholders during its yearly review of AGOA eligibility.

The letter also stated that the State Department has asked all of its embassies in Africa to report on host country laws and pending legislation that criminalizes homosexuality. Moreover, it stated that the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor has established a task force on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues to strategize a U.S. response to LBGT issues worldwide. We applaud these unprecedented actions by the State Department to address international LGBT human rights violations, particularly the recent activity around criminalization of homosexuality in African nations.

Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club Selling Ugandan Coffee Grown On The Blood Of Executed Gays & Lesbians

In 2010 after several false starts, a group of pioneers labouring in different corners of Uganda’s vast farm sector achieved a major milestone placing Ugandan coffee in one of the largest storefronts in the United States…Sam’s Club

The Sam’s Club Stores are the upscale shopping front for the Wal Mart Stores- the world’s biggest retailers. These clubs are thousands of square feet of shopping real estate, 600 in total littered all over the country. Wal Mart, the parent, runs another 4,800 shopping centres. The Wal Mart “effect” on the US economy is a multiplier far beyond its $180 billion in annual sales.

For all the years of neglect and under-investment, coffee remains Uganda’s most important export. A robust coffee recovery to its 1970 levels can turn around. It is one product where Uganda enjoys a comparative advantage. It does not carry the adverse environment impacts now being felt after a short time in new economy ventures like fishing (now linked to over-fishing on Lake Victoria), flower growing whose flow of chemicals have turned parts of Lake Victoria into a cesspool, or cotton whose lint which requires a lot of chemicals to maintain quality and protection from tropical pests.

Coffee has some democratic elements to it. More than 500,000 households grow coffee. Coffee is grown at the last count in more than two thirds of Uganda’s districts. At the last count, new coffee is blooming in areas traditionally zoned for cotton like the sub regions of Acholi and Lango that, with irrigation, could turn into major coffee producers.

Uganda’s coffee does not enjoy brand visibility. Smaller coffee producers like Rwanda (about $50 million and producing one sixth of Uganda’s output) have yielded better returns in programming quality, and spending wisely on promotion in the American market. It would seem that a strategy that avoids or harms the American opportunity would be foolhardy. The American coffee market is a marketing dream. The American consumes about 1.66 coffee cups per capita.

In 2003, this proposition translated into about $6.8 billion at the sales registers. Convincing skeptical American business people that Uganda is ready for anything is a tough sell. Uganda coffee, up to this point, still shows up at the bottom of the heap in the lower grades. Savvy producers dump their worst coffee and market it as Ugandan blacks highlighting the caffeine content and low prices in ways that other coffee producers like Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya and Ethiopia would never countenance.

So as the Kill the Gays Bill publicity starts to fade– in Uganda many big things have a short shelf life– the American press continues to highlight the Kill the Gays Bill as detailed last week. It comes at a time when Sam’s Club is carrying a major first for Uganda; Uganda Mountain Coffee- a blend of three of Uganda’s best coffee(s): Bugisu AA, Okoros, and Drugars grown by farmers in Mbale, Nebbi and Kasese.

In America, we have two forms of governance: The common public sector dominated by government and elected officials and the private sector dominated by markets, private enterprise and social groups. The latter rules for the most part.

The American public first receptive to the experiment-the coffee is carried in 75 stores in more than 20 states- starts to point out that the coffee is from Uganda where the government promise execution or life in prison for private sexual conduct.

American retailers have a host of legal exposure they contend with everyday for business decisions they make. One of the rules of thumb is to drop merchandise that riles consumers and increases its exposure.

The good christians at Faith & Action located in our nations capital fully support the Ugandan christian based genocide against Gays and Lesbians only wishing the Ugandan faithful would have asked for media help delivering their message of death and hate.

I would only add that the courageous and articulate leaders of Uganda’s social reform movement missed it on one critical element, external communication. It’s vitally important to have the support of others outside their country because of its size and limited resources. A good external communications strategy likely would have led to a quicker and more effective response from allies in the U.S. and elsewhere. Still, we can’t imagine the terrible crisis that threatens to overwhelm a nation like Uganda. As many “progressives” so often advocate, we must step inside their culture and society to understand their perspective and actions. As a reminder to President Obama, Secretary Clinton and all the others so quick to condemn our African brothers and sisters, the U.S. must be careful not to impose our (im)morality on other people!

At the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, Obama, capitulating to pressure from the “gay rights” lobby which helped elect him, condemned the prospect of “odious laws in Uganda,” after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had made similar comments.

Clinton said that she had called President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda to express “our strongest concerns about a law being considered in the Parliament of Uganda.” But Clinton failed to disclose that he had told her that he had received reports that foreign homosexuals have been targeting Ugandan children for sexual abuse.

“Homosexuals and lesbians are never targeted for who they are, rather what they do. It is the repugnant sexual acts which they do which constitutes a crime, a sin and a rebellion against the order of nature. Here in Africa, we believe homosexuals can CHANGE. It is very disappointing for Africans to hear Obama, who ran on the ticket of ‘change we can believe in,’ losing courage when we postulate in faith that homosexuals can truly change. We wish to tell him that sodomy is neither the change we want nor can believe in.”

Ssempa Continues “Contrary to press accounts, the legislation is not designed to kill homosexuals but discourage and punish homosexual practices which spread disease and death. Christians in Uganda are trying to build a culture of life and avoid the sexual perversions which have devastated families in the U.S.”

Ssempa has been outspoken about the need for the legislation. But other Ugandan activists have spoken out as well. Charles Tuhaise, chairman of the board of Agape Community Transformation (ACT), a Christian organization in Uganda, “This is a bill written to control a problem that has largely gotten out of hand in western society and is now spreading tentacles worldwide. Perhaps Uganda has helped to highlight the danger that the homosexual movement poses to the world.”

We kindly ask that you throw Gideon and his petition out of parliament so he can go back and see if he can bring 500,000 Ugandan signatures. We guarantee he cannot even get 500 signatures of Ugandans! We the Ugandan voters who elected our MPs are the ones who are demanding that you make a law to protect our children from Sodomy. The majority of Ugandans are united on one thing, Sodomy is not a human right but a human vice and we need the bill to protect our children!

While we may recommend varying punishments on those who undertake statutory rape (aggravated defilement/homosexuality) of minors and the handicapped, we all agree that homosexuality is a global problem like HIV/AIDS and swine flu which needs emergency legislative efforts. The Anti-Homosexuality Bill 2009 is a much welcome relief to meet the challenges of our people who are being compromised by money or promises of gain.

Uganda’s “passionate pastor”, as he calls himself, had revelations to share with the 200 or so men, women and children who turned up on Wednesday. His ambition to mark the week with a “million-man march” in support of a parliamentary Bill to further criminalise homosexuality had fallen flat over security concerns. But he had a sideshow quite capable of causing a stir in itself.”
